Adopt

This beautiful boy had a rough start in life.  It's no accident that his name is "Hopkins," cuz he does have a little hitch in his getalong.  When FOCAS picked up Hopkins from the shelter, he wasn't using his hind leg at all.  We soon discovered why; he had a pin in his femur that had been poorly placed.  The pin ran the length of his leg so that he couldn't bend it, and it was poking very painfully out into his hip socket.  We thought we were going to have to amputate the leg.  However, thanks to the wonderful Doctors at AMC, his leg was saved, and they repaired a hernia in his abdomen.  The road ahead was a tough one for Hopkins though.  He had to go through many grueling sessions of painful physical therapy, and just when things seemed to be going well, he would come down with a kitty cold and have to go through everything all over again. Hopkins has finally pulled through, and through it all, he has remained sweet.  He does have a limp and will probably have it for life, but Hopkins has not let that hold him back from anything.  He runs and jumps and plays just like any other kitty!  His favorite toy is an ostrich feather, and you'll be amazed at the air he catches when jumping to get it! Hopkins has a purr that you can hear a mile away, and he will let you know when he wants your love and attention.  Plus, Hopkins gets along with everyone, he likes dogs and other cats as well!  If you feel like you'd like to give Hopkins his second chance and a new beginning, call 619-579-7172 to schedule an appointment to come and meet him!
